Kurt Busch to Stewart-Haas Racing could be a blogger’s dream come true

By admin | August 19, 2013

Is Kurt Busch on his way to Stewart-Haas Racing?

By Richard Allen

It was reported on Sunday night by Lee Spencer of Fox Sports that Kurt Busch has been offered a contract by Stewart-Haas Racing for the 2014 season. Should this deal actually come to fruition, it would put the often volatile personalities Tony Stewart, Kevin Harvick, Danica Patrick and Busch together on the same team.

This would make for an extremely talented grouping of drivers(insert your own Danica comment here). At the same time, the thought of Monday morning team meetings at the SHR shop conjure up images of WWE-like cage matches.

Yes, should this happen, it could be a blogger’s dream come true.

Busch is well known for tirades against opponents, crew members, and on at least one highly publicized occasion, a team owner. His post-race interviews and in-car radio conversations are the stuff of legend. But somehow, the thought of him back talking SHR’s crew members and team ownership brings to mind the possibility of rather serious consequences.

2013_stewato01.jpgharvick1.jpgDanica Patrick came to NASCAR with much fanfare but has produced few results.

When that is combined with Stewart’s anti-media rants, Harvick’s own ability to ruffle feathers and Danica’s hype machine, there promises to be a wealth of material coming from just one organization. And that’s not to mention the success SHR is likely to have with two former Sprint Cup champions and a Daytona 500 winner in their stable.

Who knows whether Kurt Busch will actually sign with Stewart-Haas Racing. But if he does, the blogging possibilities are endless.

I actually think this will settle out with Kurt remaining where he is with the same arrangement, even if RC has to kick in a few bucks. For all his bombastic behavior he does know his cars and it’s worth it for RCR to keep him in their garage, even as a satellite team.

That said; it would be entertaining as all get out to see those four on the same team.

This season, Kurt seems to have found a situation that seems to have calmed him down. Maybe even Richard Childress has had a positive effect upon him.
Two years ago, many questioned if he would have to leave the sport because of his personality problems. He had better think long and hard about what might happen at a turbulent Stewart team.

They all will combine to prop up the “Princess” in order to share the Go Daddy gold. She will be their good friend especially since she won’t be challenging them on the track.

Even though the Possibilities are Endless, but, if Qualifying and Disclipline Issues set off, it would not be fun.

What would be these “serious consequences” be ? I hate to see him align himself with a hendrick organization and a fat punk ,pock faced, whinney bitch as teammates. I would like to see him stay where he’s at and just out run those three bitches every week.

Geez Steve… Don’t hold your true feelings in! I’m hoping it happens! If SHR can get their cars a tad better..with those three drivers (and Danica) they might give the Hendricks stable a run for their money!

LOL, I agree with Rich. It could be really fun! Since I have no dog in this fight, hey, I can cheer or jeer from the cheap seats.

I really don’t see it happening.

Kurt has found a place where he appears to be happy. I think when the dust settles, he will be with the 78 team in 2014.

Three alpha males and one alpa female on the same team would be a three ring circus to behold.

I accually see this happening. Even the SHR crew that FRR used last year loved Kurt’s racing fire.

Even though the fireworks to follow at SHR might be entertaining, I can’t help but feel a sense of loss. I often pull for an underdog team. Furniture Row Racing’s success provided some sense of achievement this year, racing against the super teams and often outrunning many of them, including SHR.

My hope is that in a fit of sanity, NASCAR will kill the multi-car teams and enable many more teams like FRR.
