It was reported on Sunday night by Lee Spencer of Fox Sports that Kurt Busch has been offered a contract by Stewart-Haas Racing for the 2014 season. Should this deal actually come to fruition, it would put the often volatile personalities Tony Stewart, Kevin Harvick, Danica Patrick and Busch together on the same team.
This would make for an extremely talented grouping of drivers(insert your own Danica comment here). At the same time, the thought of Monday morning team meetings at the SHR shop conjure up images of WWE-like cage matches.
Yes, should this happen, it could be a blogger’s dream come true.
Busch is well known for tirades against opponents, crew members, and on at least one highly publicized occasion, a team owner. His post-race interviews and in-car radio conversations are the stuff of legend. But somehow, the thought of him back talking SHR’s crew members and team ownership brings to mind the possibility of rather serious consequences.
When that is combined with Stewart’s anti-media rants, Harvick’s own ability to ruffle feathers and Danica’s hype machine, there promises to be a wealth of material coming from just one organization. And that’s not to mention the success SHR is likely to have with two former Sprint Cup champions and a Daytona 500 winner in their stable.
Who knows whether Kurt Busch will actually sign with Stewart-Haas Racing. But if he does, the blogging possibilities are endless.
