The Bank of America 500 at the Lowe’s Motor Speedway in Charlotte brings the Sprint Cup Series back to another 1.5 mile track.
There have now been enough races on these type tracks to have accumulated plenty of information. In particular, there were two races, the Sprint All Star Race and the Coca-Cola 600, held here last May.
Here are some thoughts for the Bank of America 500:
Tony Stewart- He seemingly had the Coke 600 in the bag until a cut tire with less than five laps to go ruined his night.
Jimmie Johnson- His name is synonymous with success on this track. Also, he won the last race held on a 1.5 mile track in Kansas.
Carl Edwards- These type tracks have been right up his alley all season.
Greg Biffle- He had two 2nd places here in May. He has been hot and is part of the red hot Roush Fenway team.
Matt Kenseth- Another RFR team. He has been running well of late and RFR will be looking to make up for last week’s disappointment.
Kyle Busch- He was 3rd here in May. There has to be a turn around and a hot streak coming soon.
Dale Earnhardt, Jr.- He had a strong car here in May until a brush with the wall. He still managed a 5th place.
Kasey Kahne- He won both races here in May.
Elliott Sadler- He is the teammate of the guy who won both races here in May. He was 8th in the Coke 600.
David Reutimann- He was 10th here in May. He and the entire Michael Waltrip Racing team have shown marked improvement of late.
David Ragan- 12th here in May. Another RFR driver and he seems destined for a breakout.
Prediction to win the Bank of America 500: Jimmie Johnson
As always, these are only suggestions. Do your own research and good luck.
