Fantasy leagues are ruining the view of team sports

As a fan of just about every sport, I have noticed a big change in the way people view team sports over the past few years. Team loyalties do not seem as important as they once were among fans. Those loyalties are now often reserved for individual players.
To me, that is a bit distrubing.
On my website, RacingWithRich.com I offer weekly advice for players of NASCAR fantasy leagues. In my view, however, this is not really the same as fantasy play in other sports. NASCAR is a team sport to be sure, but not in the same sense as football, baseball or basketball.

Fantasy leagues are for geeks and nerds who weren’t man enough to play a sport.
After the season is over they can go to the fantasy prom.
